Is modem programming obsolete?
I've been interested lately in modem programming. More specifically, I want to be able to dial a number and send audio over a modem, and receive and react to certain tones. I know this can be done and I have a pretty good idea how but I've been looking for more specific information and I haven't been unable to find much newer than 1995. If anyone knows the names of some good books or a web site let me know, and it's ok if they are technical, I have a degree in CS and should be able to wade through most anything. Like I said, my real problem is finding something up to date.

look up svd or asvd dsvd for voice over data modem specs
and tapi programming on msdn(if its windows) heres an in depth doc on a particular svd modem http://zyxel.pl/ftp/comet/336/docume...kwell/1105.pdf http://www.rigacci.org/comp/doc/modem/USR/index.html |
Thanks a lot. I've found a lot of information I was looking for. I'm not too big on windows programming but the TAPI API led me to JTAPI and then on to sourceforge's XTAPI implementation. I think there is some good stuff there. Hopefully I'll be able to find enough time to actually do this.
Thanks again. |
