I tried searching the Thunderbird FAQ's to no avail,
does Thunderbird support Yahoo! mail?

If not, what mail accounts can you use to set up through Thunderbird?

I've set my yahoo account to do pop3 - that definitely works with thunderbird - though this is taking your mail off the server...

Any webmail account that offers POP3/IMAP access should work just fine with Thunderbird or any other mail client.
