Asus p4p800-se Intel® Pentium® 4 3000 1024K 800FSB S478 GAINWARD Nvidia® GeForce™ FX6800GT 256MB DDR AGP 8X (2400/Ultra Golden Sample) 512MB DDR-400 Western Digital 80GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache S-ATA ThermalTake 360W PSU I bought two, one for me and one for my GF i am using a few things (like the monitor and harddrives) from our previous PCs in here as well. In three months, I'll buy two new monitors, and another 512MB RAM. This is an upgrade that is WAY overdue. My Pentium III was getting dusty. |

I'll get to those tonight.
I will say however that I was playing Doom 3 last night on High with 4xFSAA and 8xAnsitropic filtering, without a single slow down.

Asus is very reliable but their major fallback is with overclocking. They are finally starting to get it right though. I also agree on a bigger PSU but I'm and AMD fan myself especially when it comes to gaming. |

I'd put a crappy generic CD drive in those PC's as well. Those LG drives wear out in a year given you burn something once every other week and watch a dvd every week on it.
I had one wear out in 10 months, and my brother's wore out in 8 months. The replacement that I got under warrenty for mine is still running since I use the 50x drive for all non-burning/dvd tasks. |
