Windows XP Passwords Questions
Greetings Everyone,
Two questions about passwords in XP: 1) Are they stored anywhere on your computer and accessible to the user? I need to know the password to a certain site and I didn't write it down anywhere and I am still waiting for a response to an email I sent the webmaster of the site? 2) Is there a way to alter the way the way passwords are represented? All I see are just a series of little circles (when I click on the site and it asks for your username and password, your username isn't encrypted but your password is). I am the only one who uses this computer so I am not really concerned about that aspect of the security of my system. Is there any way to change the circles into unencrypted English? Your help and suggestions, as always, are greatly appreciated. Thanks |

Wait a second... Those aren't Windows passwords if you're accessing a website and need a password... Sites will only remember your login if your browser has cookies enabled, and there is an option that you select to remember your login...

1) No, passwords are stored on website's database/files
2) No, unless you create your own local webpage which posts the login information to the remote login processing script. Can't help feeling slightly curious about your motives...

I didn't think this post would arouse so much suspicision! I am a member of ariagiovanni.com (forgive for not wanting to initially broadcast my porn habits to www) and you can save the pictures one at time but I prefer to use Picaloder which can snag all of the pictures from a set in one swipe. To access the site, Picaloder needs the password in order to do its job. I want to do away with the little circles so that the next time I happen to lose/misplace/forgot a password its not such a giant pain in the ass. I hope I have allayed everyones suspicions.
