Converting Real Media files to AVI or MPEG

I want to convert some Real Media .rm files to AVI or other format.

I have tried Tinra, but all I get is a movie with sound but always a black screen. Any ideas anyone?

There was a product that allowed the conversion of Real streams but Real had it pulled by threatening a law suit. I couldn't possibly recommend that you do a google for it. :-)

However, if you want to convert full RM files, you can use http://www.rmconverter.com/

Have you used this program yourself?

Tried it - my only problem now is that the audio is not synced with the video, it becomes more noticeable the further you go in the video.

I suppose the framerates do not match, any tools that you know of that I can use to correct this?

Sorry mate, only noticed your post now.

Nope, I never used it myself. Can't really offer any advice other than, maybe, splitting the original file into sections and then converting them.

Damn Real and its variable framerate and built-in frame dropping!

Some files convert nicely, others are a mess.

WHY OH WHY do people use Real Media format? It sucks in every single possible way.

What I was planning to do was to convert RM files to some format that I can convert directly to a SVCD compatible format.
