Does Internet Explorer 6 ship with Shockwave 8.5?
 

Hi there :)

I've looked both at Microsoft and Macromedia but I can't find the answer.

The reason I ask, is that I am supposed to make a Flash component for a web site, and I would rather make a Director/Shockwave component.

My boss claims that Internet Explorer does not have native Shockwave support, but HAS native Flash support.

Can anyone confirm/deny this?

I don't think it ships with either.

iirc, shockwaves been around a bit longer than flash anyway.

I don't have a virgin windows install around at the moment so i can't tell you either way.

Oh, and neither will be 'native'. Both are installed as plugins either way you dice it.
