DVD player doesn't recognize some DVD's.
So this isn't the largest problem, but I've been without a TV for a while since I recently moved into my new apartment.
I just rented two new-releases at Blockbuster and I cannot play them on my computer. It's not my software because the drive icon doesn't even see that there's a disk in the drive. I get the error "Please insert a disk into Drive:x" when I try to hit play in PowerDVD. My drive is a decent Pioneer but is about 4 years old. My drive plays some DVD's, but not others. What gives? Is there a full-proof way around this? -T |
my first move would be to hunt up another DVD player / drive and see if they work in it. If not, it's probably a junk disc.

A friend of mine had the same problem. It turned out that his computer's DVD player didn't support dual layered disc. Try the disc on a friend's DVD player to make sure nothing is wrong with it first.

I highly doubt the problems are with the disks. Numerous dvd's don't work on it.
Can virtually all DVD players suppord dual layered disks now? Thanks guys -T |
I've had the same problem.. The Last Samurai didnt work on my dvd drive on my comp.. but it worked fine on my tv's dvd player..
