High Speed for $20?
Is it possible to find High Speed Internet (DSL/ADSL/Cable) for $20 max per month?
If you know of any good deals, I'd be more than glad to hear about 'em. |

I seriously doubt it.
cable in my area is $45, DSL is 30. I know people in cali who are being charged almost 70 for cable. the best you're gonna get for $20 max is netzero high speed dial up. you never know though, check with your local ISPs, cable co and phone company. |
i think time warner will be releasing a "lite" roadrunner tier, for like 20ish bucks a month, but it will be quite slow and i would definitely not call it high speed. it would be faster than dialup but..... not by much

I dont even think that exists yet....I am paying 55 a month for cable through adelphia and im getting almost 3megs down....good luck in your search

Bellsouth has DSL Lite for $25/month here in Florida. I think it's 768kbps down.

Well, I decided to go with Earthlink's cable, $30 a month for the first 6 months and $42 from thereon. I just couldn't take this dial-up crap anymore...my dial-up connection is provided by the college, and while it's free it also disconnects like 3-4 times every hour, plus the college disabled the use of YIM and similar instant messengers on their system. (Of course you can still connect to YIM via http, but...it kinda sucks).

SBC yahoo can get you connected via DSL for like $26. But its really crappy.

How long do they require you so sign up with them? Nevertheless, it's still pretty good.

I pay $70, but get 5MB down, and 768 up.. It is a premium, but Halo 2 is coming soon. :)

We pay $50 for 1.2 megabits down and around 250 megabits up on our DSL line. That's the fastest plan offered as well! The $30 per month plan is sorta slow...downloads are capped at 70 kilobytes per second. Blah! My mom has Time Warner Road Runner about 30 miles away and gets 2.5-3 megabits down and about 500-700 megabits up. It's $50 fuckin dollars as well! Three times the speed for the same price as our town pays for DSL. Oh well, it's still 50 times faster than Dial-up. :)
