Old PC having trouble with web addresses
On the family box, if you type in "www.google.com" it won't find it. But if you type "http://www.google.com" then it's fine. My pc is connected on a wireless lan, so it probably is specific to that computer (not a general DNS error or whatever. I'm out of my league).
What happened and how do you fix it? |
old version of internet explorer?
did this ever happen before? |
I noticed it a couple weeks ago. I didn't do anything about it since I don't usually use that computer and nobody else has said anything.
|
I've had to use "http://" before every hostname for every version of IE. Other browsers don't seem to care.

I would say try upgrade your IE to a new version and see if that works. Most web issues I came across were because of out date drivers for the modem though.
