How do I turn auto login back on in XP Pro?
I updated XP pro recently and for some reason now it doesn't auto log me in anymore. Instead I get the login dialog box. I looked in user accounts and couldn't find any options. Any ideas?

install tweakui from the xp power tools from microsoft.com , it will allow you to set the login, instead of chaging the registry

You have to have only one account, no password, and the guest account must be turned off.
Or: 1. Click Start, click Run, and type control userpasswords2. 2. Clear the Users must enter a username and password to use this computer check box. 3. Click Apply. 4. Enter the user name and password you wish to automatically log on with, and then click OK. 5. Click OK again and you're all done. If you want to mess with the registry here are the instructions: http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/13/ http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/780/ |
