Jpegs & Firefox
Greetings Everyone,
I just upgraded to the latest version of Firefox and I have a question about pics/jpegs. On the majority of sites I can click on a thumbnail and it opens up like normal and I can save it or close it (just like in IE). But on some sites, I get this annoying popup/process window (see below) http://img78.photobucket.com/albums/...0011110001.jpg Firebird opens the pic in the Windows XP Picture and Fax Viewer. If I like the pic I can't save for there so I have to repeat the procedure all over again. My question is how do I get pics in Firebird just to open up in a normal window and bypass that window from the pic. Thanks for any help or suggestions you can offer. |
1. Maybe the mime type is wrong from the site.
2. Check Tools->Options->Web Features Make sure that "Load Images" is selected Check if "for the originating Web site only" is checked. Uncheck it. Since it's a forum, I think that maybe the pic is a link on another site (i.e., not on celebrityfan). |
Thanks for the info but unfortunately that wasn't the case. Load Images was checked and For the orginating Web site only was unchecked. I know the website, from the pic above, doesn't link you to other sites you have to upload the pics to their server (I am not sure if I can site plug here or not so I won't, yet?). Thanks though for the help. Anyone else?

You say you just updated. Did you uninstall the previous installation? Sometimes leftover stuff can cause problems.
Also, a new profile can often fix things. From a command prompt, type: firefox.exe -Profilemanager and start with a new profile, and see if the problem goes away. If so, you can transfer the following files to keep most of your configuration: bookmarks.html cookies.txt cookperm.txt formhistory.dat history.dat key3.db signons.txt If you don't understand what I'm saying about profiles, follow this link: texturizer.net |
