Task Scheduling
I want to be able to get Windows Media Player (or maybe WinAmp) to open and start playing music at a specified time. Does anybody know how I would be able to do this? I have tried searching Google but there doesn't seem to be any info on this kind of thing.

it's actually pretty easy. I'll give you the winamp rundown.
create and save a playlist somewhere.. (.m3u) go to control panel, scheduled tasks, add scheduled task when you’re prompted to choose the program, hit the browse button, and choose the playlist you created earlier. Choose how often you want it to run etc....everything else should be self explanatory from this point forward.. :) |
You know, i have never been able to get teh Schedule Task Wizard to run on any of my computers without locking up....ever.

that's strange. I never had a problem with it. What OS's? I've used sched. tasks in 98, NT, 2k and XP with no probs.
What about if you go to scheduled tasks in control panel and just make a new scheduled task (without running the wizard) and then edit the task? Does that work? |
Its in XP, on 4 or so different computers i have this problem...
It does work if i make a new task, and edit it though. Its really wierd, could be something with the copy of Windows i have. Its actually the wizard thats the problem, locks up every time |
