Quicktime and Direct X 6a problem?
Since upgrading to direct X 6a, most of my quicktime movies (which worked before the upgrade) seem to be really hosed - mainly showing the left 1/2 of the video with the right half hosed in mainly green lines.
If I turn off Direct Draw, then the movies play OK, but because there's no acceleration with Direct Draw off, the movies really don't play well (are very jerky). Apple doesn't seem to acknowledge there's a problem. It seems that DirectX can't be rolled back to the prior version. Has anyone else seen this problem? If so, do you have a better work-around? 6a or 9a?
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx The latest version is 9a. Just checking. ;) |
run dxdiag (should already be installed) or 3d winmark and look for problems there first. also look for video card driver updates.
