movies zoomed
I normally use winamp for my movies, but some are streemed right off the net in IE.
The pesky problem I have is that my movies are all zoomed in so I cant see the whole picture. This seemed to just all of the sudden start up, but my mind is set on it being a problem w/ codecs. Im actually not really sure which codecs I have installed, and don't know which ones I should have. So if anyone knows the fix to my problem that would be great. |
What types of movies are zoomed? Is this in Windows Media Player? Do you see the same effect when playing mpegs and avis?
|
To see which codecs you have installed, go to device manager, expand sound video & Game controllers then get properties for Video Codecs. The properties tab will show all the codecs installed.
you have right clicked the video and have made sure it's not zoomed right? Also, have you tried to make the video full screen? When playing through IE, which media player is playing the video? WMP, Real Player, Quicktime? |
its wmp

Do you see the same symptoms when playing differing file types, ie - avi and mpg?
|
well, recently in winamp my movies play, nothing shows up though. avi and mpg
through IE i think only mpg plays through it and they're zoomed |
2nd page :(
I guess Ill have to get used to enjoying closeups and wondering if its a titty or elbow again :p |
I had this same problem on my work computer. I had to change the screen resolution and it worked.
|
Hmm, well my current monitor is my Tv screen, so changing the res. is not an option for me. :(
thanks for your tip though. |
On some video cards, you can tweak the overlay settings. You will find them in the Advanced section of your graphics driver, usually in the Overlay tab. Some drivers have a zoom option to handle overscan. Check if your cards overlay options.

I checked that overlay, and the video overlay was moved to zoom in...
I hit the restore defaults button and the slider moved all the way to zoom out. I hope that fixed it. thanks.... Illl have to find a video to test it Ill get back to you guys. man Im stoked! |
