G-Gnome's Orac³

Jesus. Has anyone seen this fucking project. I know it's been in development for over a year, and the final portion of the project was just posted on the front page of bit-tech.net a few days ago, but damn, I had to comment on it. That mod is a work of fucking art. Easily the best mod ever.

This thing took over 7 months to construct, and it's a beauty. If you ain't already seen, then brother, you best get with it. Because this bad boy is where it's at. I can imagine a good few of the components that make up this mod, such as the hard drive covers, mobo stealther, all the metal tubing that was used, the drive faces, all of that shit, will become quite popular in the near future, and I wouldn't be surprised if major companies didn't try selling that kind of stuff. In case you've never seen a good mod, or have been living under a rock of the modding scene for the past year, here's a link to bit-tech's article on Orac³ Part 5. Yes there's five fucking parts, and each is at least 20 pages in length, and none are dial-up friendly. And here's the rest of the story.

All I can say is Wow.. this puts anything else I've seen to shame. What was impressive to me was the use of the showerheads. I would have had no idea.

Yeah, the Orac3 is easily the best case mod I've ever seen. Here are some pictures of it throughout its development:

This mod is a piece of art!

I've been following this project for a while now too. I would agree with those above in saying that this is by far and away the best case mod ever. I would hate to be anyone else on that forum.

Oh man, your posted reminded me, I go to that forum every once in a while, and see that G-Gnome's project log is pretty much always near the top, and that it's got at least 50 pages of posts, most being in the vein of "WHEN IS THIS SHIT GONNA END" and then the required flammatory answer. Ah, I bet those guys in that forum are going apeshit now that they don't have Orac³ to whine about.

I've never fapped to computer hardware before... but I suddenly feel kinda funny.

Most...coolest...awesomerist....case....ever.

I bow before whomever thought up, designed, and built this masterpiece. I wish I had this kind of inginueity and imagination.

Seeing that kinda puts all the case windows and drive steathing that everyone and their brother does into perspective, doesn't it?

I'm building my own "poor mans" version right now. It's actually a combination of his "3D clear" "Orac³" and "Invisible Case" projects. I'm building a clear 2-level cube around an ABIT NF7-S motherboard/ATI 9800 pro card. All my cables are wrapped in chrome wire loom (like I said it's the poor mans version). It's about 70% done at this point but it should be awesome. I got all my inspiration from the guys over at bit-tech! They do some top notch case mods!

I'll post my finished case when I'm done here. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks.
