taskbar/keyboard trouble
hey all..once again my compy is givin me issues... runnin win 98se, with a logitech wireless maus and keyboard...restarted my computer and now the little speaker and computer icon in the right hand side (under the clock) are gone...now i can't mute things with my keyboard, or adjust setting's (unless i right click the desktop) any way to get these back?
|
if it still detects the keyboard and mouse, to get the volume icon, go to control panel > sound, there's a check box, under the volume tab which says "show volume control in taskbar" (or something like that IIRC)...
as far as the computer icon... do you mean the display properties? |
yeah...soopa freak..no good...sorry
|
reinstall drivers?
|
any idea which ones? i am kinda a noob
:\ |
the ones for your wireless keyboard/mouse... maybe check logitech's site for driver updates as well.
but maybe before you do that, have you made any changes to your system lately? software or hardware installs/uninstalls? etc. i've only seen the volume icon disappear when the soundcard craps out or isn't seated properly in the case. |
If you're missing the volume icon in the notification area, it usually indicates that the sound card drivers are not working correctly. Check your system hardware screen (I believe it's in the control panel on Win98). If you see a yellow question mark icon for the sound card, then you need to reinstall the drivers.
