Hey folks, I thought I'd just pipe in with a quick IE cache tip!

Hard drives are getting HUGE nowadays. Internet Explorer, *still*, by default, sets its cache size to a predetermined fraction of the total size of the drive/partition it's installed on. So this can end up being several gigabytes of mostly useless cache crap that you don't need at all!!

So why not fix it?? Go to the Tools menu in IE, then Internet Options, Settings, set the Amount of disk space to use to 80, and hit OK. Optionally, hit Delete Files before you hit OK once again to free up TONS of space!! (in most cases)

I can't imagine ever needing more than 80MB of cache!! Your performance will increase and you could very likely regain a load of free space!

I would disagree if you are a browser of the titty board. some thread fully loaded can be 30+MB and having the pics in cache can be good if you forget to save them and go back to the thread.

Or get Firefox and clear cache every time you close it.

You can do that with IE as well.

Why would you want to? It is nice to save the pictures that you see all the time so they reload faster.

Sure, adjust it to your liking!
80, 150, 200 MB or even more could be just fine. But my point was that many people don't even realize this, and there's no need for 3147MB of cache for most people

BTW Firefox and Mozilla are both key, they're both equally my favorite browsers depending on what I'm doing...
