Photoshop CS
I got a little problem with photoshop cs. I recently acquired it and I'm having trouble trying to edit pictures. When I create a new pic, I can edit it and do whatever I want. However, when I go to edit it later after saving, I can't do anything to it. It shows a lock on the layer tab and I haven't been able to find a way to unlock it so I can edit some more.
Any help would be appreciated. |
Double click the layer that's locked, that's what I always do. That allows you to turn what photoshop is thinking is a background layer into a real, editable layer. Also, make sure to save it in the .psd format if you want to retain your layers and such.

if glytch's method doesn't work, i always do it this way:
dupliate the locked layer, creating a new unlocked layer with the same content. Now just delete the background layer. :) |
well, that sort of worked. I can work on one image, but when I open another file to copy and paste (a psd with two layers), I merge the two files then i can't even select it to copy/paste to the first image. anyone?

are you in RBG color settings?
|
Of course. I've even tried swapping back and forth between index and rgb to test it, and that was a no go as well. This was something that was so simple to do in 7.0 and such a hassle in cs....
|
That is why I still use 7.0.... I don't see why people update when the newer version doesn't offer that much more.
|
yeah, i went back to 7.0. works just fine. screw cs...

I use PS 7 for a few small things but the interface give me fits compared to the much more intuituve (IMO) feel of the GIMP 2.01
Text is easier work with in PS so I used that briefly for a recent crap creation that I posted over on the appropriate forum here. |
