I really think that this is a mistake getting rid of techtv and merging it into g4, It would have been better for everybody if it was the other way around.

Anybody else have any thoughts on this?

I just hate the fact that Robot Wars is going down the drain. I hope they add it to the other channel, even though I don't have it. :(

You will never create a show as good as Call For Help, you will never create a show one tenth as well done as The Screen Savers, you will never create a show as down to earth as X-Play to review games, you will never create a show as off the wall as Unscrewed. If you don't carry over the TechTV programming I hope you pour countless millions into an unprofitable pile of crap.

Rational Me: TechTV had a number of really good shows: Call For Help, The Screen Savers, etc. I thought Unscrewed was the worst show on TV but I will miss those others.

I find this absolutely ridiculous. They are eschewing a well established, quality NETWORK, for some cable only video game drivel? So now they can only appeal to the video game fanatics, as opposed to the wide technophile audience that TechTV catered to? Bad move.

Yeah, living in Comcast Country for the last 20 years I've never gotten to see TechTV, but I have watched G4, and it's a pile of shit. Comcast would have been much better off firing that whole staff and bringing in the TechTV people.

Absolutely. G4 is shit. Total shit. I've watched some of their programming, and it's like hitting your head against the wall.

Who wants to watch tv about gaming? I'd rather play games. A flawed business model if you ask me. Now we can watch the new channel start circling the drain.
Ass wipes! Techtv is one of the reasons I switched to Dish. Now I'm going to need to restart my pc world subscription to get any tech news/info.

Seriously, though, this is just plain stupid. I watch both channels, and they aren't even mergable in my mind. TechTv is a great source of good programming and information, while G4 is a great sourse of mildly entertaining background noise. bah.

G4 just seems like a less-quality channel to me. I watched it for about 30 minutes and it just seemed like it wasn't as professional as TechTV. Maybe it's just me.

This is awful. The majority of my TV watching is TechTV! In fact, I have it on right now! I hope whatever they do, the shows transfer over 'as is' and I hope I get the channel with my cable provider.

This sucks...I loved the sarcasm on XPlay (especially for bad games)...of course, the loss of Robot Wars and more importantly, Unscrewed is no big deal.

Anyone else remember when the girl from unscrewed put up a message on her blog about not wanting to do playboy, as if the playboy TechTV girls poll was about her, then she lost big time to Morgan Webb? oooh, the irony of not getting it.

Damn, only one day, and already I'm waxing philisophic.

If the TV show goes, then so does her popularity...therefore, it'll no longer be in Playboy's best interest to feature "the girls of TechTV" therefore.... if the show goes, then no soup for us.

What the FUCK is Unscrewed doing on the merged station!? That's the stupidest fucking show I've ever seen. Martin Sargeant is a dick and he uses breasts to keep on air. I HATE that show.

I always liked Tech TV, but hated it's poor production value. Just seemed a bit cheezy all the time. I'll miss it, though.

I loved the cheeziness of production. It added some charm to the show.

I'm not AS pissed off now that I see they're keeping most of the good TechTV shows (but no Call For Help? that sucks). However, I just hope to god G4 doesn't start putting their shitty shitty hosts into the TechTV shows. I swear they could ruin anything.

No CFH sucks, I always though FFM and Robot Wars (sorry Lasareth) was lame. But I would have gladly welcomed either of the previous two if Thunderbirds would take a hike.

Wow, I didn't know they were keeping all of the TSS staff. I just downloaded, yes downloaded, the june 10 episode of TSS from suprnova.org, and bam! there's Kevin, Patrick, Sarah and Yoshi. Well, I should've followed these posts more closely before they got sent to another page. Damn. I need to watch more TV.

Hehe I was on TechTV once... for real. Well kinda :p

They were doing a little segment on a PC fighting game (the only one) called one must fall battlegrounds, and on the TV they caught some snippets of "Endy_Lendari" (thats me!) talking to the reporter guy in game (I didn't even know he was a reviewer) but it was cool.

forums.omf.com... it's a good game, but it never really caught on unfortunatley. Mainly because they got unfair reviews. :rolleyes:

No Shit. I hate G4/TechTV. It is total and complete mindless crap. Hey I love to watch people play MMPOPGGR live on TV (deep scathing sarcasm). Fucking great. I just needed to bitch about it. I have been morning the loss for a couple of weeks now. I think I have gone into the anger phase.

When I found out that they merged (after noticing some lame content on the channel) I called and canceled the channel.

It was their San Francisco mindset and B.S. that was destroying the channel in the first place.

Too bad, a man I sold some speakers to VIA Craigslist worked for them. I think he was pretty high up in the company.
