Antivirus question?

When I try to open Norton, I get "Symantec integrator could not initialize the current frame class. Please make sure that you did not directly run the integrator."
I also have open windows flashing this morning even after rebooting. Am I infected?
If I go with AVG do I need uninstall Norton first?

Any other suggestions or tips?

I am using XP & Opera.

Go to the symantec web site and search the knowledge base for that error message.

Most of the results I found indicated potentially a corrupt or missing file(s). The solution was to uninstall Norton, reboot the computer and then reinstall Norton.

Check the solutions out for yourself. Unfortunately the results page can not be linked so you will have to do the search part yourself.

most of the time when you have a problem with norton like that it means you have a virus that is doing it, unless you have been playing and deleting files
