Linksys USB200M problem
Because of my compact motherboard and fried primary bus, I decided to go with a usb ethernet adapter to free up a PCI slot.
I installed the latest drivers, and the internet works great, but I can't view the network. I don't have a functioning cd/dvd drive, so I need to use the network to install programs, burn cds, print, you name it. Has anyone encountered this problem?

I am on a network, but I am unable to view it. The error says "unable to browse the network. The network is not present or not started. I have all of the patches for windows 2000 installed.
I do not have a workstation service, how do I install one?

same workgroup? same subnet? if all else, map the cd drive from the one computer that does have one.
make sure you enable sharing of the drive on the computer with the cd-rom. then at the 'run' dialog box (Start >> Run), type \\computername where 'computername' would be the name of the computer which is going to share the cd-rom. a window should pop up with the shared contents of that computer. right click on the cd-rom that shows up, select 'map network drive', select a letter and off you go. that drive will now show up in 'my computer'. hope this helps

FYI - I uninstalled my network protocol and service, rebooted, reinstalled them, rebooted, and now I can view my network.
