Unzipping large file
I'm extracting a three gig .rar file, comprised of about 40 sub .rar files. So far it's on pace to be finished 9 hour after I started it. Can this be right? Seems like an awfully long time.

It could be if you have a slower proc/less RAM. Plus you'll have to unpack the sub rars after those are packed....It sounds to me like your friend set the pack to maximum to save space on the public domain software he sent you.

There's definately something wrong. It's up to 86 hours, not making much progress. I think maybe it's a problem with Norton anti-virus conficting maybe, but I disabled it, and it's still taking forever.

Check the options on your WinRAR setup, there's a low priority check box, maybe you have that on?
