winamp

all of a sudden out of nowhere winamp seems to be opening by itself. Whenever I have it installed, it keeps opening for no reason. And when I have it open, whenever im in another window, winamp decides to think its the active window.

im tried reinstalling winamp 2.91, as well as winamp 5....they both do the same thing

winamp's forums are down right now so i was hoping others could help

so you're doing absolutely nothing and winamp is launching, or are you doing something at the time. If you have the settings a certain way, and you visit websites that have certain media embedded, winamp will open to play the media. Is it playing anything when it opens? is there a lightning bolt icon in the right side of your taskbar?

it opens when im typing, i close it, then continues to open again and again after i stop typing completely

I saw this problem on the WinAmp forums. I don't remember the solution, but I do know that there is one. Go to www.winamp.com and do a search for your problem on the tech help forums. You'll probably find the answer pretty quickly!

I know, I know, I was just saying that I know I've seen the problem in the forums, and when they get back up, it's sure to be there (since I have no idea how to fix it). I hope the forums are back up soon!

Trying checking winamp's global hotkeys.
It's a long shot, but maybe you have something bound to, like 'M' or something.

Thats what I am thinking it may be too.

Could try going across your keyboard pressing the keys one at a time to see if its that.
