AMD Price drop on TigerDirect...

I really feel sorry for all the people who have bought their AMD XP 2500+ Barton for $75-80...

TigerDirect has a huge AMD price drop (not sure about other sites...)

Athlon XP 2500+ 333 FSB Barton Was $85.99 Now $59.99* Save $26

Athlon XP 3200+ 400 FSB Barton Was $315.99 Now $179.99* Save $136

Athlon XP 2800+ 333 FSB Barton Was $136.99 Now $89.99* Save $47

I wonder if this is because AMD is pushing the Athlon 64 really hard now, or maybe they made to many?

Granted, you have to mail in a rebate to AMD, but still...

Heres my view: If you live like a cheapskate you'll only feel ripped off more often.

You lost some money, oh well, its how computers work.

As for them price drops, daaaamn thats nice, lets hope they start a trend.

I wouldnt mind a 3200+ right about now. ;)

After a look at the website, 20$ for a 1.6Ghz Duron.. wow...

I could sooo rip somone off and sell them a "AMAZINGLY FAST 1.6GHZ SYSTEM" heh.. I'm the next dell/compaq/hp/etc

Damn. I thought the drop of $25 on newegg.com was crazy enough. Thats just going to get people pissed off though...

TigerDirect isn't any better than some no-name company from Price Watch. I wouldn't buy liquid gold from those guys

Well, when Intel dropped the prices on their P4's earlier this month, an article I linked said that AMD was planning to drop their Athlon XP prices as well, but later this month. Well, "later this month" just got here I suppose, because that's a hell of a price drop! AMD just got even more bang for your buck.

Ahh shitty, I just bout a 2600 3 weeks ago :(

To top it off, my local comp shop's last day of business was today. If I would have know that, I would have saved my money 3 weeks ago and got my stuff a week ago :(

On the bright side, there is now opportunity for me to open a comp service/hardware shop :-P. (The owner of the closing business swears that business wasn't as issue, but that her drivetime sucked and her husband made more than enough money for her to keep it up.. so not sure what to think  ).

same here, on 3 seperate occasions..

usually when a company offers free shipping, the catch usually is they cheap out and go for crappy shipping, but i always get the package within 5 days.

They do enough business to have an infomercial run, not in the middle of the night, but in the early morning in some markets. I'd have to assume that some of that is repeat business.

I was just joking around guys :) I'm just making fun of the quality of their magazine thing you can get. It's similar to a flea market advertisement or something :)

I was wondering how good they honestly are though....you guys say they are that damn good, eh? Might have to check it out.

i get all my hardware from tigerdirect...latest bit is an external 120GB drive for 118, plus tax, free shipping. definitely repeat business here

I just jumped on a 2600+Barton/ECS N2U400-A for $90. The deal broke down to about $55 for the processor. I might have to grab a couple of the 2500's at this price alone.
