How do i properly use .bin files?
I have lotsa quesitons bout .bin files:
I understand that you have to burn the .cue file to a cd, but whenever i do this my windows media player cant play the movie file. what am i doing wrong? Also, how do i make my own .bin? can i do this with NERO? how exactly do .bin files work? is the main purpose of image files to fit a large file (over 700mb) onto a 700mb cd? (sorry if these questions seem ridiculous to the experts, or if this has been answered in the past) can anyone please help? TIY |
.bin is a cd image file. You need need Nero or CDRWin to convert the image to a CD. I use a great lilttle tool call Deamon Tools that makes vitual CD volumes from cd image files. When I decide to burn a CD I test it with Deamon to see if I should even bother. As for the .cue file, I believe that's just and indexing file. I hope that helps.

matches, it would help if we knew exactly what you are trying to do. but I'll share what little info I have on the subject.
Azharen is right about using the excellent program called Daemon tools. One of the things this program does is create a virtual cdrom drive on your computer. Using this function, you can view a file that is in bin/cue format. I'm sure it has other uses too, like creating and/or manipulating bin/cue files, but thats all I've used it for so far. I intend to investigate the matter further, as I have some really large vid files I want to burn to cd and even the 870mb/99 min discs I have wont hold them. One thing I have figured out about this stuff is that, once you have created the virtual drive on your comp, you have to "unmount" it before you can delete any files (or maybe its just the last file) that you view using it. I was about to go into DOS mode to get rid of a file before I figured that out. |
