How about 3d Mark 2001 and 3d Mark 2003 scores too? They're more gaming oriented, and most people know that comparison better than PC Mark. I've never ran PC Mark because I know that most aspects of my PC aren't that great. :) I use it for gaming, thus the gaming benchmarks.

I'll wait until my new stuff arrives to do this stuff.

Pragma 02-02-2004 04:29 PM

Honestly, I've heard nothing but bad things about FutureMark or 3DMark 2k1 or 2k3. I'd say do Quake3 / Unreal 2 benchmarks to really stress out your system and see gaming performance.

Yeah, 3d Mark is simply a system measurer...it doesn't really measure how good your computer will run certain games (especially 2003). It's still a good indicator of how damned good your computer is when it comes to pure gaming, however. Nothing will beat individual game tests.

PCMark scores:

CPU: 6464
Memory: 6317
HDD: (ouch) 272

I guess it's time for me to get a new harddrive, eh?
My specs:
Intel p4 3.0ghz HT 800FSB
PC3200 512mb
800FSB mobo
Nvidia GeForce Ti4600
And apparently a crappy hard drive

numist 02-03-2004 08:58 AM

Since 1) I run a dual processor system
and 2) I dont use windows, and emulating the benchmark program would kill the scores,
I think Ill have to refrain from putting up scores in this thread.

Dual 2.0GHz Athlon MPs
Memory 768 MB DDR
HDD 2 hard drives, 4 partitions, total 90 GB

Time for a new hard drive, but I believe the rest is up to spec

gal 02-04-2004 02:02 AM

My 1.5 year old office computer:
CPU score: 6261
Memory score: 4635
HDD score: 194

Intel p4 2.8ghz
DDR 1Gb PC2100
Dell mobo
2x Western digital 120MB, 8mb

Same as glytch; very bad hd results compared to the Athlon systems here..

OK :D
I'm sure I can get higher scores if I'd tweak a little and overclock, but for now I'm happy with how my machine performs. Everything is running at stock speads.
