ReplayTV? (inspired by Cynthetiq)
Ok, so -Ever- has a thread about TiVo. I am interested in ReplayTV. I like the look of the interface more than TiVo, like the fact that it has a progressive output, its streamability, and how you can set records from the internet. Has anyone here had any experience with Replay? Any input would be much appreciated.

I had one about 2 years ago but it crapped out after 6 months of use and then they wanted me to pay another $150 to get it fixed... It made a nice paperweight.....

I have a RTV 5040 which I believe is the old generation. I probably can't help you too much with the advance functionality since I use it primarily as a glorified VCR. What I can say is that both TiVo and RTV are great products that will likely change the way you watch TV. For me, I love commercial skip, pause live TV, and just being able to watch my favorite show whenever I want.

The time will soon be here that I'll be buying my Replay. I'll probably get the 40 hr. model, as I won't be around much to watch TV, and there is only a handful (like 4) programs that I care to watch. I've done a lot of sniffing around the AVS Forum on hacks and stuff you can do to them. I'll probably be using the DV Archive program a good deal. I also found info on how to re-image the HDD on a 5500 series model to that of a 5000 series model to get the Commercial Advance feature back.
