Reformatting problem

I'm running a P-4 with Windows XP and I'm looking to reformat my harddrive. I actually use two of them, but I move everything I want to keep to the 2nd one and hope to reformat the drive with windows installed on it. I disconnect the 2nd drive when reformatting after my brother accidently reformatted both drive. Anyway, I set the BIOS to boot from CDROM first, and when the XP installation comes up, I choose to Install windows. Then it says it can't find a harddrive and I have to restart. So I can't get past this. I appreciate anyhelp, and apologize if this doesn't make sense as I'm in a rush. Thank you.

Are you sure you:
A) Disconnected the secondary drive?
B) Checked the jumper settings on the main harddrive? Sometimes there is a "Master with slave present" setting, and of course, if you're only using one drive, you don't want to set it to that.

Glytch beat me to it :) I'd bet money this is a jumper problem.
