Little sticker on the back of cooling fan
I took my cooling fan off my video card to clean it, on the back of the fan I peeled the sticker off to add a drop of oil. The sticker will not stick back on and I heard you can just use a piece of tape to replace it. Is this true? Is the sticker a special kind of material or will a piece of scotch tape do the job? Any help will be appreciated.

As far as i know the sticker is only there to cover the hole of the ball bearing and also to advertise the company that made the fan. I am not aware of it being a special material.
Hope that helps. |

Just be careful to keep an eye on the masking tape. Masking tape glue does cure under heat and will lose its stickiness.

just ditch the sticker and roll with it

Anything should work, it won't get too hot...you also need to keep it clean of dust, so it should be covered.
Why did you want to oil it? If it's making noise, you should just replace it. |
