Which Font?
..i've been meaning to do a thread like this for a while...and i just had a 'happy font' moment, so was inspired...
Which font do you use as the 'primary' font on your puter? meaning...the font used on your icons and such...the one you see the most of as you're computing... |
mine - custom, been using it for about 2 years. i love it, never tire of it, it's 'perfect' imo. :)

default windows xp. whichever that is.
|
I just use the regular default font for windows.
|
|
I use the very clear Bitstream Vera very nice and clear like windows tahoma but just a bit cleaner me thinks
|
mac default - CLASSIC DEFAULT, custom on OS X,
geneva 10pt |
I used to have funky fonts for each little thing, but i ended up going back to the same old default one just cause i could actually read them better.
|
I use the default Windows XP font since I have never found another font that is consistently readable
|
Default. I used to use a custom font but people complained when it also got used by my email client.
|
Windows default, because I've never found a reason to change it.
|
I only worry about pretty fonts in documents... otherwise I go for the default. I spend most of the time at a console anyway so no choice really...
|
Tahoma is the -best font ever- :P
|
I use custom fonts that fit with the visual styles I have.
|
this should have been one of those polls where you can choose more hten one answer.
I use linux default and windows default. dual boot = awesome. |
On the windows comp, default. On linux, same. Although, when I write papers, whichever makes the line look the biggest, that's the one it is.
|
Presently, whatever's default on winXP, whatever's default for KDE (redhat), and Espi on all my running Macs (7.1 & 7.6).
The Windows load on this machine was supposed to be a 'temporary' setup...but I've had it running almost a year now. maybe I should change it. I only use Lucida Console for terminal sessions (where I spend most of my time) So I could have gone with like 4 of the choices here... |

mandrake 9.1 more often though. btw, SiN, what does that say in your first post (pity a Sandstorm user) ?? |
Hum...
Well, I`d LOVE to use CorporateS. Since it`s my favorite font.
Wish I had it... =/ Bera |
I didn't even know you could change it, but then again what do i know. Think i may go and change them now.

You will never need another font during your programming sessions after this. :-) |
Just the regular fonts on the system, but I have the Elephant (bolded) font on my Object Dock - I only have OD and Rainlendar on the desktop, all other icons are hidden. I find Elephant big, bold and clean.

right-click the desktop, click the 'Apperance' tab .. there, click the Advanced' button, then in th 'Item' dropdown, go thru the items and change the ones with a 'Font' setting. -------- I'm glad this thread has been revived, it's still a worthy topic imo, and i'm still using my CorporateS :D --------- @ Loup - hmm ... i've never thought of a Serif font as 'clean' ... |
Verdana or Tahoma 8pt
|
Graphite Light
Or Palatino |
BBlean default... which is XP default I think... it's the same font as the TFP
|
OS X default, which is Helvetica. Clean and to the point. Typical Apple.
|
Why so much Tahoma?
I can't see much difference between that and Arial, which is the default I believe. Mr Mephisto |

Tried a Trekkish font once, but I'm a creature of habit, so I changed back.
