PDA Help

I am looking to upgrade my PDA. I am looking for a PDA that runs Windows PocketPC and has the ability to allow me to check email when I am out of the office. I'd also like the option of hooking up a small keyboard to it to type instead of using the stylus to input information. I'd ideally like to spend less than $400.

Any recommendations?

Also what are the options for checking email on a PDA? Is it easy to set up? Expensive?

Thanks

well it's not windowsPDA, but you may want to look at the Tungsten C. It has a keyboard instead of a dedicated writting area and can also use a stylus anywhere on the screen like tablet computers do. It has the brightest screen of any right now according to Cnet and has wifi 802.11 built in. that means where ever there's wirless, it can be used. really decent battery life from what i hear as well.
It goes for about 320.00 new in box on ebay (ie:sealed) with a full warranty and has a SD port like ppc does. Plus palm's software is commonly less buggy than microsoft.

Dell's Axim X3 is here, and its not too bad at all...

Worth a look at a review/specs - http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/68/33411.html

I had their predecessor (Axim), and it was a damn good PDA for a cheapie price.

I use a Compaq iPAQ Pocket PC, which is now HP iPAQ of course. I really enjoy it, it has a sturdy feel to it and has quite a few accessories. They should have one in that price range as well.

The new Palm Tungsten E is $200 and an optional keyboard will set you back $100. I've used my Palm m505 to check email remotely and it works great.

Unless you have your heart set on Pocket PC, check out the new Tungsten T3 - it's the best Palm yet and catches up on all the Windows integration and multimedia hoopla that seems to zombie-ize people to buy the Pocket PC.
