Ti-89 Games?
Calculus is boring the hell out of me and I need a way to pass the time. I got one of the most recent ti-89 calculators and I'm having trouble finding up to date os's/games for it, does anyone know of any?

It's all about the http://www.ticalc.org !!!
I remember going there a TON back when I was big into wasting time during class. Now I just waste it all outside of class :p And, by the way, I found this thread because I saw the recent searches and wondered "why did someone search for ti89 and what did they get?" So, I just wanted to say, thanks for searching before you posted! :) |
yeah, ticalc.org is the place to go.
i even have a couple of ti85 programs up there. |
'Phoenix' was a HUGE time waster for me in my calc class last year and it spread across my class like ebola.
Good times. :) |
"Dope Wars" was all the rage in my high school, though it's probably old hat these days. I remember making a really cool modded version with some new options that spread like wildfire at my school. It's probably lost in the ether now.

Man, I can't find Snood or Dope Wars, oh well.
At least I got Phoenix Platinum Edition :) Thank you everyone |
yep, i got tetris classic, smq (space monket quest, although it strangely resembles super mario bros. :) ) and star wars (modded phoenix)

If you want access to the good games you're going to have to go with assembly, it really shows the power of the Ti-89. I would recommend the Doors OS, since it has the largest number of supported files out there. If you have a hardware version 2 or above it might be hard to find stable versions though.

I remember using a TI-89 during high school a couple of years ago. Sucked because at that time the cable to hook up to the computer was 50 dollars and I wasn't going to spend that much on it, and there was only like 4 other kids with a TI-89 and none of them had games. I did program a number guessing game for it once. Which I had learned assembly to do those advanced games they have.

You know you can make your own computer connection cables, right? ;)

chances are it's not actually Snood but more a variant of it, such as Frozen Bubble is. So long as they don't call it Snood I doubt it's actually a copyright infringement. Then again, what do I know? I've never seen the game :p

ticalc.org removed all drug related programs, as well as the porn after some parents complained.

 dude, the porn on the calc was the best thing ever! :p (Seriously though, that's really stupid. If parents want to complain about something how about not educating their kids well enough so that they don't think a stupid game like drug wars will turn them into a druglord. |
