Anyone in the Web Industry
 

I know I don't post often (busy with school and what not) but I need a favor. I need to conduct a interview with someone in the future industry I'm going into, thus web industry. Since I know tfp attracts a variety of people if anyone is in the industry and wouldn't mind answering some questions, then contact me via my AIM jameffect (I'm going to be here all day doing work). Out of curiosity, might you go to the same school as Gabe's niece from Penny Arcade? If you read Gabe's post today at the bottom, he talks about his niece having a very similar request as you. Probably just a random coincidence, but I thought I'd point it out.

And if you're desperate, you could interview me. I'm a recent CS graduate and I spent this past summer working on a website for a firefighting institute. I helped create a student registration system, as well as helped to manage all (100 or so, maybe) computers in the building. I'm would hardly call myself a professional at this point, but I guess I qualify nonetheless....

I work as a webmaster and I run this site. I deal with advertising too. Is that the kind of experience you are looking to interview?

The "web industry" is a pretty big place -- what, specifically, are you hoping to get into? I've done some sysadmin duties along with php/perl programming and project management.
