Worm.Randex removal

My computer got infected with Worm.Randex.H, and I have no clue how to remove it. The only anti-vir program that I have is AVP anti-virus, but the best solution it comes up with is to remove the infected file (msmsgri32.exe). I don't really want to touch this file, since it's in the /System directory. My OS is Windows 2000 Professional. Can you guys suggest something?

when av gets screwed by a virus, i scan/remove with trend micro's <a href="http://housecall.trendmicro.com/" target="_blank">housecall<a>.
