Scandalous e-mail?

i just got this e-mail. it states it's from microsoft, and has the attachment for an upgrade on it.

reasons why i think it's fishy:

1) microsoft never ever sends out the updates as attachments to e-mail addresses

2) the from address is from some domain @updates.com.

3) they refer to you as 'Dear MS User'

it sounds like a way to infect your computer and i hate to see how many people actually run the .exe file.

what do you guys think? beware or not?

It's a scam.

Like you said, MS doesn't send updates via e-mail. period.

(and there are many other things wrong about this)

That's the Swen virus. Don't open the attachment.

Official-looking though, innit?

That's amazingly devious and shifty.

I wonder what the creator thinks he/she is going to gain from doing this.

Check yourself and do a scan. My anti-virus caught Swen even though I didn't open the attachment.

Damn script kiddies!!

There were a couple of updates sent out this past week from MS but like everyone said, they don't come in e-mails. I have gotten e-mails from Norton telling me about system update, but they just said to go to MS update to get them,
