Help with Explorer.exe Error - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

I keep getting this Explorer.exe error everytime I use my computer now, it eventually goes away, but I don't know what the root of the problem is.

Windows XP
P4
512 DDR
40 GB.

Laptop.

Toshiba Satellite 1905-S303.

The root of the problem is explorer.exe and its suckiness.

No, it seriously is.

You should find a new shell application. They're basically the steering wheels that let you interact with the rest of the operating system. I suggest GeoShell. It'll take a little time for you to get used to it, but when an error pops up all you have to do is restart the program.

explorer.exe is basic what lets you use windows. so more than likely something is conflicting with windows.

You could get another shell... but that's a pain.

I've run into this problem when fixing people's computers before. Run Ad-Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy to see if there's any spyware on your system. The spyware isn't always the best programmed, and can cause explorer to crash repeatedly.
