Anyone know a good "barebones" site?
VF19 had a post on the front page about memory upgrades to a barebones system.
So, I thought 'what perfect timing...' I have a bunch of extra stuff lying around and want to make a complete system out of it to make it useful. Does anybody know any good web sites that sell barebones systems. I've found a few (Tigerdirect, etc....) and they're alright, but I thought I'd knock it around here for a day or two before making a final decision. Thanks in advance. :) |
Have you priced em at pricewatch.com? They have some ok ones.

try www.internetishop.com
i bought my last barebones there, and haven't had any problems, but I'm not sure if its any better than any of the other usual suspects. |
www.mwave.com also has a few barebones systems (or at least they sell motherboard/CPU/RAM bundles to save you a little bit of work).

Tigerdirect is THE WORST online computer products store. DONT buy anything from them. You'll get better customer service from Crazy Luigi's Whorehouse, Crackden and Computer Parts.

Newegg.com or Directron.com.
I've bought 1000's of dollars of stuff from them both. Both good sites. |

Looks like I've got some sites to visit. :) Thanks |
I've bought from www.compu-terra.com quite a bit. Seems to be really good. I've had all positive experiences with them. :) It lets you select your own stuff too. The prices probably aren't the cheapest though.
