not working here, that tab just shows "loading" with the spinning arrows chasing each other until the message from proxomitron comes up.

your ip didn't change right? make sure the redirector has the right ip for one or try your ip instead.

Did you run the lockdown tool? In IIS make sure the web site is running. Make sure the WWW service has started.

Run the IIS lockdown tool and make sure you don't the the WWW service locked down.

Does it work from your machine? Can you access it locally?

Server's not up...

i can access it locally. no, my IP hasn't changed. i had a friend check my IP and he couldn't scan me, says i have no listening ports. i unistalled the lockdown tool after this happened. yes the www service is running.

Do you have port 80 open and forward to your server? A port scan won't reveal anything if you're behind a firewall.

IIS Lockdown secures the web server in relation to file and user permissions but doesn't do anything on the protocol side.

how do i see if port 80 is open? my firewall won't let me do it. can i just change the IIS port setting to a different port? if so which port?

Most broadband routers (firewalls) allow you to enable port forwarding. You enable TCP on port 80 to forward to your private IP address of the web server.

What router/firewall are you using?

split lickety 09-27-2003 11:47 AM

i'm just using the firewall built into XP.
