Cursor Jumps to Top of Field
You guys helped me with the sound card problem. I am hoping you can help me now. My wife's laptop is running XP. It worked fine until recently. When she is typing in a field, after a few lines or so, the cursor jumps to the beginning of the field. For example, if she is writing a letter and types: Dear Mrs. X, I am following up on our meeting today Sept. ..... the cursor will jump in front of Mrs. and the letter looks like this: 9, 2003 Dear Mrs. X, I am following up on our meeting today Sept. We thought maybe spyware or something was the cause. I ran Spybot (which I love) but it still has the cursor problems.
You guys are the best!!! Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
In general, with laptops, I've found two things. First, if it has a touchpad, it's very easy for the palm of your hand to accidentally touch it and cause the mouse to click in other areas of the screen. Second, the keys are much more sensitive, so you may accidentally press a key and not realize it (home key in this case, which seems unlikely).
Even if this isn't the problem, I would get a regular mouse and disable the touch pad. |
i do something similar on my ultralite laptop since it has a shorter shift key i always hit up arrow, instead of shift so i end up with wierd text. like spectre says it might be the touchpad too.
