Favorite Media Player for Linux?
I am a Linux Newbie Running Red Hat 9.0 on my Fi\ancee's Laptop (She is such a good sport!). What would be a good media player to install and run?

Doesn't RH9 come with XMMS?
(Edit - Spelling) |
I'd use XMMS, but you'll need to install MP3 capability seperately because RH doesn't come with it.
If you mean media as in movies, I'm partial to Xine, but I'm told mplayer is pretty good as well. |
MP3s: XMMS at www.xmms.org
Movies: MPlayer. I've tried Xine a couple times and it always locks up or crashes my system. MPlayer is the best, in my opinion. Website: http://www.mplayerhq.hu/ |
have to agree with Latch.
MP3s, XMMS hands down for a GUI player Movies: MPlayer. Dont like Xine much, and absolutely love MPlayer |
