converting wmv to mpeg
 

does anyone know how to convert windows media files to mpegs? i have some vids id like to burn/view on dvd.

The above site has excellent resources on converting/ripping/burning movie files. Not sure if it has a WMV to MPG conversion walkthrough, but it's a great place to start.

Google search for...I think it's call stoik video converter.... or something like that. It's a handy little tool for converting video files just as you describe. Keep in mind that it is freeware, so sometimes it will crap out on you. (Just like all freeware does occasionally.) The nice thing is that even if it doesn't work, it doesn't corrupt your original file, so you at least have the original still in good shape.
