Getting CS To Work On Linksys Wireless Router - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

Hey guys....I'm having a little trouble configuring the router to play counter strike for somebody...I followed the directions to set it up as a DMZ Host but it failed.....So I just wanted to know what ports to forward and how to go about it...thanks

I'm guessing you've already gotten it to work for internet connection sharing or file sharing?

yeah it works fine...just can't get on CS for the kid...I don't know the model number...it's not at my house...its the linksys 24Ghz 802.11B wireless router

is the default port for CS open?

what was the #, 27015 or something like that.

Original cs 1.5 used ports 27005, 27010, 27015 (just for people planning to play, not to host). But since 1.5 will not be playable in the next week or so, you'll have to grab steam @ www.steampowered.com and put up with the horribly coded program! Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of players trying to do the same thing your doing! Sounds like fun? =). I have nothing against 1.6, but steam is horrible.

Anyways open ports:
UDP 1200
UDP 27000 to 27015 inclusive
TCP 27030 to 27039 inclusive
