Water Cooling
 

I want to get a water cooled system for my computer, but I think that the premanufactured kits are too expensive. Does any one have any tips on a cheap sub 300 dollar water cooling system?

I'm really a newb when it comes to this water cooling stuff so don't assume I'll know what you're talking about. If you could provide general tips on water cooling that would also be good.

I used the Antec tower case on my last one and with just the fans that came with the case, and a harddrive cooler fan my hd stays at 27 degrees C all the time - cost a lot less that the water route.

The reason why I want to go the water cooled route is because my room tends to get hot and I have a lot of components. I have one of the better HSF and I still get temp problems.

i got a water cooled system and i love it. its a koolance and i think i got around $350 in it including power supply. to me theres not a real big difference in air cooled vs. water. my system stays around 82 degrees but its settin back into my desk. so air flow is limited to the top.

sometimes if you check tigerdirect.com sometimes they run a sale for the case, cpu cooler, and harddive cooler. give me a shout if you wanta know anything else.

Yeah, I wish my temp was 82, right now its running at 41C/105f, and all I have is a few ie windows open. If I try to do anything processor intensive like watching a vid or playing games it get to the point where the machine reboots. To prevent the high temps I have a huge ass fan next to the PC. This sucks for two reasons: 1. Its noisy as hell 2. It blows a lot of dust into the case.

I guess what I want to know is what is the cheapest water cooling solution available?

I'd recommend the [H]ard Forums.

Basically, I'd recommend a Maze3 water block with copper top (good starter block), Eheim pump (ie. 1250), a car/truck heatercore, and clear flex pipe. If you've got enough cash leftover, you can make your res outta PVC pipe.

i'm pretty sure you could get set up at swiftech, including a video block or chipset block, for less than $300

OK so I did some browsing at dtekcustoms.com for parts and I came up with this:
Waterblock = 52
Radiator = 39
Pump = 58
Total = 136
+ misc accessories add +- 50

Which would give me a system for well under 200
Does this sound like a worthwhile system? Is there anything I'm missing, or wrong with what I have planned?

those ehiem pumps are pretty big... ive got one...

ive got a dangerden maze 3 waterblock... im very happy with it... and definently make a resevoir... i did and couldnt be happier... or atleast buy a quality one... not the clear dangerden one...(it leaked on me...)
