Minimize/Maximize XP Problems
My computer is doing something really quite annoying. Or I should say that Windows XP is doing something annoying. Everytime I click on a picture or open up a new window, the new window is always a much smaller window and I need to maximize the window. How did I do this and how do I fix it. Much thanks for any help.

That happens to me too, I think if you manually enlargen it, don't hit maximize, but you actually "stretch" it out, it stays like that.

You didn't specify which app is loading the image. If it's Internet Explorer, open the image, resize the window the way you want, close IE. Try again and should be OK.

Unfortunately, I tried both suggestions mentioned above but it still happening. Any other suggestions? Mr. Rubicon who are correct in surmising that I am indeed talking about IE. I hope that helps. Thanks for any further suggestions.

You need to try rubicon's solution again, and make sure that you are completely closed out of internet explorer (can be checked by task manager and looking for the iexplore.exe process). Sometimes it takes a few tries for ie to "remember" the setting, BUT it seems to only take closing the last window (as a smaller size, i.e. popup ads, etc) for it to revert to the wrong size.
I do know that there was a thread around here about resizing the ie window, but this topic comes up pretty often it seems. |
1. Close ALL windows.
2. Launch IE. 3. Right click on any link, choose OPEN NEW WINDOW. 4. Size the secondary window the way you want it. 5. Close the window by clicking X icon while holding down the SHIFT key. 6. Repeat if neccessary. |
