Microsoft Is Using Linux To Protect Its Own Web Site
|
I'd say this article has a bit of an odd outlook on transitivity. There are some situations where if A implies B, and B implies C, thus A implies C. There are other situation where this is not the case.
A - Microsoft B - Akamai C - Linux If Microsoft contracts with Akamai, and Akamai uses Linux, Microsoft is not using Linux. |
Cowlick... how close do you live to Redmond?

MS constantly uses *nix variants, and Linux among them. That's not a show of weakness, or a lack of faith in their own software. their are a few cases where Linux is really the tool for the job, and everyone knows anyone saying differently is full of shit. I mean hell the Linux kernel is developed using bitkeeper a closed source proprietary code tracking system, not CVS or whatever the hell GNU has for that. almost no one (outside of the kernel development mailing lists) ever bitches about that. Programmers are at least half engineer, and engineers are nothing if not pragmatic.
