One of my favorites right now since I use gmail as a primary email address: gmail notifier. I like getting that little popup to let me know when I get mail so I don't need to keep thunderbird running at all times.

For Ubuntu users:

sudo apt-get install gmail-notify

No kidding...that is certainly one heck of a revive. Since I posted that last message I've graduated from college, and have been working for AMD (that was the "at work" I mentioned in the previous post) full-time for around a year and a half.
