I am now posting on this forum via my brand new computer. Everything on it functions flawlessly...with the exception of maybe the processor. I'm not sure if it's correct, but when I right click on my computer and check the properties, it says it's running at 1.09 ghz. It seems like it's running faster than that to me, but I can't really tell. I'm crossing my fingers that there isn't a problem with it. Thanks everyone for their help.

There isn't a problem with the processor. You need to change the FSB speed in the BIOS to get it running at the proper speed. It is running slow right now. The Motherboard is always set at the lowest speed so that people with slower chips won't fry their shit.
To change that it's under Frequency/Voltage Control. If you don't know what speed it's supposed to be set at the manual that came with your motherboard will tell you what FSB speed to use to get it runnjing at the proper speed. Last edited by sixate; 08-08-2003 at 02:26 AM.. |
