charger cord and laptop questions
I just bought a new Acer Aspire 5253-BZ815 laptop that included an ac charging cord.
I want to buy an additional charger cord from Amazon to use in my bedroom, but I can't seem to find a cord with the same serial number. Here is the one I found that looks like the one I have.
Amazon.com: NEW Laptop/Notebook AC Adapter/Power Supply Charger+Cord for Acer Aspire 1410 1640 3000 3050 3100 3500 3600 3610 3620 3680 4520 4620 4710 5000 5001 5050 5102 5315 5315-2153 5500 5520 5570 5570Z 5572 5580 5600 5610 5610Z 5630 5720 7100 zg-
Will that one work for my laptop even though the numbers don't match? Another non-related question...Is it possible these days to expand the memory on laptops? This is my first laptop, and I'd heard in the past that it was very hard to do.

My guess is that it will but I stay away from super cheap electronics and power supplies, they usually don't last and power supplies can do damage when they go (especially if they spared expense on the parts inside)
Also it's not good to run laptops on the charger all the time, the battery needs to undergo charge-discharge cycles periodically. |

Funnily enough, I received my new charger in the mail today after you answered my post. I got tired of waiting for an answer, and I needed to order something else from Amazon, too, so I took a chance on the $8 charger. You were right, it does work, but I hope you're wrong about the cheap ones messing up the laptops if they go. Anyway, thanks again for the info.
