Changing an Icon in the address bar of FireFox
 

Does anyone know how or if it's possible to change the icon to the left of a web address in the address bar?

Or if you can change the Icon for a website in the Bookmarks Toolbar?

That's called a Favicon - it's specified by the host website to the browser, and cached on your browser's side. You'll note that TFP's is the cascading letters. I imagine you could find it in the cache and replace it with some other image, but it seems like quite a bit of work. I don't know of any way to change it within the UI of Firefox.

What are you trying to hide and is it awesome?

Also: One solution to this is to use subfolders.

My memory is a bit foggy, and I can't seem to find the thread.. but now that I think about it, I think I made that cascading T - F - P favicon. Time flies - that must've been at least a couple years ago..

Edit: I lied. http://www.tfproject.org/tfp/tilted-...s-favicon.html - it appears MexicanOnABike made one that got picked instead. Wonder what that little mexican on a bike is doing these days..

Nothing awesome to hide. But after reading your question I was thinking- 'How cool would that be, if I could change each 'blank page' favicon to a different vagina'. Hmmm a dozen vaginas, neatly in a row.......

The OP is because I want to replace the 'blank page' favicons on my bookmarks toolbar. I'm up to a dozen 'blanks' now, just figured it would be easier/faster to identify those sites if they were differentiated by a graphic.

Don't make me out to be a dirtbag / Jazz. I was thinking guns. And you should see my desktop. I have custom icons for every little OCD thing.

Well, you didn't know the word "favicon", so it would have been hard to look for it. So don't be too hard on yourself.

Whatever happened to TFP's favicon?
All I see is what looks like a white piece of paper with the top right corner folded down, not the old TFP one.
