Disable uploads on e-mule (e-donkey)
My ISP was complaining about my uploads, so I disabled my uploads on WinMX and Kazaa Lite, but I haven't had similar luck with e-mule. The fix sounds easy, don't put anything in your share folder, but when your downloading something it because accessible for upload by other users.
If you know how to completly disable or limit upload to a minimum I would really appreciate a reply or pm. Thank you |

The idea behind e-mule/donkey/ edonkey network is that those who upload get to download. Thats it. The more you upload, the more likely you are to download, because the network demands that a user shares. If you download to much and upload to little, you get cut off. It lets others get the files they want without worrying about Leechers who take their stuff without sharing with others. The same goes for bittorrent.
However, you can limit your upload by decreasing your upload cap. Preferences > Connection > and change your upload capacity. Put it at 5 KB a second if you have to. It will limit the amount you upload, but it will also have a negative effect on how much you can download at a time.
